Before we started working together, I felt stuck and unhappy with my weight and overall fitness. This was starting to affect my day-to-day life — I’d get out of breath doing simple tasks and was struggling to manage my eating habits. I knew it wasn’t sustainable and that my mood and health would continue to decline if I didn’t make a change.
Around this time, I had just proposed to my partner and wanted to use that positive energy as motivation to improve myself. With the wedding coming up in around five months, I had a clear goal to get fitter, feel healthier, and be happier with my appearance. That’s when I decided it was the right time to commit to proper training.
2. What originally made you reach out to Charlie?
I had known Charlie for years and always respected how dedicated and professional he is. I knew that when he sets a target, he gives 100% to help people achieve it.

On top of that, I really enjoyed learning about boxing — it gave me a new appreciation for the sport and something I continue to respect and take an interest in.
7. Did you achieve what you originally came for?
Yes — I achieved what I originally set out to do, although my goal did evolve along the way. At the start, my focus was hitting a specific weight target, and I came very close to doing that. However, as I progressed, I realised that the number on the scales mattered less than how I felt in myself.
Over time, my focus shifted from simply losing weight to getting back to the kind of fitness levels I had when I was younger and playing rugby and other sports regularly and competitively. I wanted to feel strong, fit, and capable again rather than just lighter.
What made this possible was Charlie’s approach. His structured training, consistency, and support helped me build both my physical fitness and my confidence. The combination of one-to-one sessions, group boxing, and clear nutrition guidance kept me motivated and on track, while also helping me develop a healthier mindset around training and food.
Because of that, I didn’t just change my body — I changed my habits and my attitude towards fitness in a way that’s stuck with me.
