1. Before you started working together, where were you at?

Before we started working together, I used to exercise very sporadically, with little direction or holistic understanding of what I wanted to achieve, what my priorities were and how I wanted health to fit into the rest of my life. I was overweight, tired, and low energy.

2. What originally made you reach out to Charlie?

I knew Charlie from the boxing classes I had been in and I already knew him to be exceptional in terms of his ability to motivate and his understanding of how all aspects of health are managed. I knew I needed to do something different and I was confident that Charlie was the right person to help me. When we started working together, the help he gave me exceeded these expectations.

3. What did the process actually involve for you?

We spoke at length at the start about my physical, professional, emotional and personal circumstances as well as my goals. We really took the time to understand my motivations, habits and priorities as well as my mindset. Charlie gave me a book to read on habits and we did a full body scan while also mapping out where fitness and health ranked in terms of my priorities. From this Charlie defined a detailed workout and diet plan aligned with my goals. 

4. How did you find the process itself?

The process was amazing, I learned so much about myself, how my body works, as well as significantly improving my fitness and strength, and form in the gym. I found that I loved lifting weights as Charlie showed me how to do it in a safe way. It was hard work but extremely enjoyable and the progress we saw really motivated me. 

5. What stood out most about Charlie's approach?

The main thing which stood out for me was the holistic nature of Charlies approach – he fully recognises that you cant just focus on one area of health without considering the others. He really took the time to understand me, my drivers, my challenges and my individuality and tailored something specifically to help me be successful. 

6. What changed as a result of the work?

My strength improved, I built significant muscle while also losing weight. I felt more alert, healthier and more mentally stable than I had in a long time. I felt more in control of my body as well as my mind. 

7. Did you achieve what you originally came for?

I achieved what I wanted and more – I only thought I wanted to lose weight (which I did) but I also built strength, redefined my body, as well as my relationship with food and mental health.

8. If someone was considering working with me, what would you tell them?

Don’t hesitate, Charlie is the most dedicated, considered, knowledgeable and human Personal Trainer I’ve ever worked with. He’s also just an absolutely brilliant person and someone who is great to spend time with.
